Altama Mountain Panamoc

IMG_2380cAsk anyone who has spent some time in the service in the past 40 years and chances are they've had a pair Altama boots on their feet at one time or another.  My first set of Jungle boots that I picked up back in 1988 at Ft. McClellan, Alabama were Altamas and I ended up putting many, many miles under those boots both in the service and in the woods hunting and camping.  I still have them in fact, although they're looking a little rough these days!

NewBalance851001cGoing to industry trade shows has its up sides and its down sides as well.  The biggest down side is that you're seeing products that won't be out for another six months or even longer.  So, it's kind of like being a kid waiting for Christmas to arrive when you see a particularly interesting new product on display.  And that was exactly the case for the New Balance MO851 Multi-Sport shoes that I ran across at the Summer Outdoor Retailer show last July.
